There can be a page full of reasons why you might want to assume another identity. That is your business. However, if you do make that decision to buy a second identity, there is enough available information on the Internet that one could get writers cramp. They're like moths to a flickering porch light. That's the good news. The bad news is you should be aware of the level of security that could put your chances of success in jeopardy. Of course, it will depend on what second identity information you're choosing. Classified ads from outfits offering secondary fake IDs like birth certificates or a drivers license could be a scam and frankly, aren't of very good quality.

Ten years ago you could purchase at a reasonable price, all sorts of really high-quality fakes; even including "blank' social security cards where you could fill in any name of your choice. However, today, recent laws have made that impossible to legally sell a bogus SS card. That said, you must be diligent in what second identity you buy and from whom. Especially, if your purchase is a second ID for under age teenagers getting into bars.
Note: You need not look any further than yourself to find a suitable new identity. Like kids from single mothers who take the name of a new "father" when marrying or remarries. Or people who were raised under false names all have a second identity ready and waiting.
